"Together We Can, Together We Will"
Serving the local community and beyond with compassion, integrity, and purpose. Part of Lions Clubs International — the world's largest service organisation.
About Our Club
Waltham Forest Lions Club CIO is a vibrant and dynamic voluntary community service organisation and a registered charity organisation. It is a part of Lions Clubs International, who are the World's Largest Service Organisation.
We are a committed bunch of local people, who give our spare time through volunteering to serve and help the community and the environment in the London Borough of Waltham Forest and beyond.
We work on many community projects and help local organisations across the Borough and beyond who are in need of assistance. We run many charitable projects and campaigns.
"Our Vision is to be the global leader in community and humanitarian service."
Part of a Global Family
Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service organisation with members across 200+ countries and territories.
Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) is our charitable arm. Campaign 100 aims to raise US$300 million to empower Lions' service.
Our motto is simple — "We Serve". Lions help wherever there is a need: sight, hunger, the environment, childhood cancer, and diabetes.
Making a Difference
From recycling eyeglasses to disaster relief, from fighting hunger to saving lives with Message in a Bottle — our programs touch lives across the community and around the world.
Program
The Lions Club collect unwanted glasses for redistribution to people in developing countries. There are over 200 million people worldwide who have impaired vision simply because they cannot afford to buy glasses.
We can help give someone the gift of sight. Please donate your old and unwanted spectacles, sunglasses, and reading glasses at any of our collection points.
Program
When natural and man-made disasters strike, Lions are among the first to offer help. Whether it's the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, the crisis in Ukraine, or flooding in Pakistan — our LCIF Disaster Relief fund provides immediate and long-term assistance.
LCIF offers grants of up to US$100,000 to help Lions provide for immediate needs such as food, water, clothing and medicine, as well as longer-term rebuilding of communities.
Program
We support local food banks and community organisations to help feed those in need. During the Covid pandemic, our club was instrumental in providing food parcels and essential supplies to vulnerable families and individuals across the borough.
The need continues to grow. Across the world, 811 million people don't have enough food. Lions are committed to fighting hunger and ensuring no one goes without a meal.

Message in a Bottle is a simple but potentially life-saving idea. It is a small container that holds a form with your personal and medical details inside. You keep it in your fridge, and the green cross sticker on the fridge alerts emergency services to check for it.
In an emergency, paramedics and other services can quickly find out your essential medical information, your emergency contacts, and your doctor's details — helping them provide the right care immediately.
Program
Message in a Wallet extends the concept of Message in a Bottle to cover emergencies that happen outside the home. It is a simple fold-up card that you carry in your wallet or purse.
It contains your essential medical information, medication details, emergency contacts, and your GP's details. If you are involved in an accident or medical emergency while out, first responders can quickly access this vital information to provide appropriate care.
Program
Each year, Lions Clubs International sponsors the Lions International Peace Poster Contest for children ages 11–13. The contest encourages young people to express their vision of peace through art.
Waltham Forest Lions Club participates actively in this contest, working with local schools to give children a voice and a creative platform to share their hopes for a more peaceful world. The winning posters progress from local to district, national, and international levels.
Campaign
Kindness Matters is a global Lions campaign to inspire acts of kindness in communities everywhere. We believe that small actions can create a ripple effect that transforms entire communities.
From helping an elderly neighbour with shopping to organising community clean-ups, from mentoring young people to supporting vulnerable individuals — every act of service and kindness matters and makes a real difference.
